In Arizona, a copper mine experienced groundwater seepage and rainwater runoff into their ponds after a particularly heavy monsoon season. To resume mining 2,500 feet below ground level, the mine needed to remove 36.3 million gallons of water from the pit.
To overcome the low altitude of the site, high flow and acidic water challenges, the mine purchased several high-head stainless steel pumps from PowerPrime. The mine chose an XH150 pump with a 1,000 gallon fuel tank, two XH100 pumps and seven HH160i pumps to dewater the ponds.
